Obituary of Dorothy Jean Smith Monts

WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral service for Dorothy Jean Smith Monts, 68, of West Columbia, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Lexington United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Ken Owens and Rev. Dr. Miyoung Paik. Woodridge Funeral Home will be assisting the family. Mrs. Monts passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013. Born in Lexington County, she was the daughter of the late John Smith and Annie Jeffcoat Smith. She was a member of Lexington United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, Vernon Carder of West Columbia; daughters, Wanda Blackmon of Lexington and Trina Allen of Gilbert; sons, Steven Monts of Lake City and Jonathan Monts of Charlotte; step-daughter, Jewel Malena Carder of Vinton, VA; step-sons, William Carder of Hartsville, Dylin Carder of Rock Hill and Kevin Carder; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
