Obituary of Harry Scarborough Catoe

LEXINGTON?A Celebration of Harry S. Catoe, 63, of Lexington, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Lexington Baptist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Turner. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Lexington Baptist Church, Worship Center. Woodridge Funeral Home and Memorial Park is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lexington Baptist Church, 308 E. Main Street, Lexington, SC 29072. Mr. Catoe, beloved husband of Victoria Sartor Catoe, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Ervin Levi Catoe and Mary Elizabeth Scarborough Catoe. He proudly served his country in the Marine Corps and was a member of the Marine Corp Band. He was a graduate of USC and an avid Gamecock Fan. He was a member of Lexington Baptist Church and the Victorious Overcomers Sunday School Class. He loved to play golf. Harry made many contributions to the University of South Carolina and made many friends across the state working with USC Palmetto College. Surviving in addition to his wife of 17 years, Victoria Catoe of Lexington; daughter, Missy D. Jones (Barton) of Cayce; three grandchildren, Stephen Matthew Gillian of Gilbert, Erika Christine Jones of Cayce and Kelsey Alexandra Jones of Chapin; sister, Marcia R. Burden of Virginia; brothers, Ira ?Sam? E. Catoe of West Columbia, Donald ?Don? R. Catoe (Linda) of Blythewood, James ?Jim? W. Catoe of Florida and W.A. ?Bill? Catoe (Shirley) of Lexington. He is also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
