Obituary of Judith Williams Frye

COLUMBIA: Memorial service for Judith Williams Frye, 69, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, in Grace Church of Columbia. Woodridge Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28201. Mrs. Frye passed away Friday, March 29, 2013. Born in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of the late William Ewing Williams and Nell Hamilton Williams. She graduated from Cheraw High School in 1961; and attended Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, from 1961-1965. Mrs. Frye taught 2nd grade in Monks Corner, SC for 2 years. She then worked for the SC State Archives in History as a Document Resourcer for 25 years, retiring in 1995. Mrs. Frye was a member of the Girl Scouts in Cheraw, SC; and loved to read inspirational novels and do crosswords. She also enjoyed water skiing. Survivors include: her husband, Tommy B. Frye of Columbia; daughters, Ruth Carlyle (Jeff) of Murrells Inlet, SC and Grace Frye of Lexington, SC; son, Tommy B. Frye, Jr. of Columbia; sister, Merilee Perrine of Charleston; brother, Bill Williams of Edisto Island, SC; grandchildren, Christina York, Jeff Carlyle, Jr., and Joshua Carlyle; also several nieces and nephews; and close friends, Ruth Lam and Loraine Sexton.
