We will fondly remember his friendship and kindhearted disposition.
The many good memories together will not be forgotten. Hosting delegations, company soccer games and making home-made salami with the family... he was always the numbers and ratios guy when it came to mixing.
Our condolences to the family.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I had the pleasure of working with your loved one at Wheeling Pitts Steel in the Monessen plant. I also knew his brother, who also worked there. Prayers for comfort. He was a very nice man.

Laura and Family,
With my deepest regrets, I am so sorry for your loss. I had the privilege to work with Bob for 10 years. He was a great mentor and a great friend. He taught me a lot about business development in the rail industry while we traveled the world together. But he also taught me a lot more about life. He always kept his cool and had a positive attitude even in difficult times. He taught me how to properly operate a BBQ smoker. I loved talking about BBQ with him and learning from his insights. I'm going to miss his laugh and his smile. I'm going to miss my friend.

Laura and Family,
This is Tina (Kaylee’s best friend). I was so saddened to hear of Uncle Bob’s passing. He was the best & coolest Uncle ever! He was a happy, fun-loving & sweet man! He showed us how to love & live life! It was because of him that Kaylee & I have so many fun Myrtle Beach memories! I’ll always remember our girls trip & staying over in Lexington. I can also remember how he sweetly held the umbrella for Kaylee at her parents house, on her wedding day. He will be deeply missed! Our sincere prayers & deepest sympathy!
Love,
Tina & Darrin Dillow

Bob joined ENSCO in 2010 as our Director of International Business Development. He semi-retired in 2018 but continued to support our company as a part time employee until his last day. Over the years I spent a lot of time with Bob traveling to customers in various countries, participating in Trade Shows, or working on important proposals.
Bob had a unique combination of technical knowledge, business acumen, and people skills that allowed him to quickly gain respect and to connect with a broad range of people- from technicians and engineers to Business Developers and CEOs. He had strong contacts and relationships with potential business partners, customers, and competitors all over the world. His knowledge, skills, and hard work made him very successful in the international business where the outcome is often built on respect and trust.
Bob was a world traveler, he knew customs and cousins of many countries, he could describe differences in various airlines and teach how to adapt to new time zone. I know that many people around the world will miss interactions with him, his wealth of knowledge, realism, unassuming positive personality, and, of course, his dry wit that he was known for.
Bob was instrumental in making ENSCO’s rail business a recognized and successful player on the World stage. He leaves behind an important professional legacy, but we will also miss him as a great person and a friend.

I first met Bob early in his relationship with my sister. I was in Myrtle Beach with my buddies for our annual golf trip. Bob and Laura had a condo there presenting the perfect opportunity for me to meet him. It was at Possum Trot Golf Course that we were introduced, and it only took until he hit his first shot that I knew we were going to get along. He hit a screaming hook into a stand of pampas grass thus ensuring his membership in our little golf fraternity, The Hoovers. Over the years we played many rounds of golf, and tackled household projects that just happened to be needed done when I showed up. Not that I’m complaining, it was a joy to stay with them whenever I found myself in their neighborhood for family gatherings or on my trips to Myrtle (note: their neighborhood and mine are 1100 miles apart ). The last time I was there I was on a research jaunt for my novels, and was treated to an afternoon of history sightseeing with Bob; just another aspect of his generosity, and his diverse interests. His soft spoken, yet quite witty, voice is going to be greatly missed.
