Obituary of Bernard Epperson, Sr.

OBITUARY – Bernard E. Epperson, Sr. – Services for Bernard E. Epperson, Sr., 87, of West Columbia, will be private. The family will greet friends from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29072.

Bernard Epperson, Sr. passed away at his home December 21, 2020. Born in Chattanooga, TN, he was a son of the late Alvin Edgar Epperson and Eva Cook Epperson. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother who will be missed by all who knew him.  Bernard enjoyed golfing and being around his family. He will be remembered as a caring and giving man.

Bernard is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Vonetta Long Epperson; daughter, Pamela Epperson of Congaree, SC; son, Lee Epperson (Virginia) of Columbia; daughter, Trika Epperson of West Columbia;  great-grandson, R.J. Brown; brother, Harvey Lee Epperson, of Tampa, FL. In addition to his parents, Bernard was predeceased by a son, “Burny” Epperson, Jr., and 2 brothers, Tom Ed Epperson and Wiley Epperson.
