Obituary of Sandra Lynn Forbes Cook

Sandra Lynn Forbes Cook – Gaston – Services for Sandra Lynn Forbes Cook, 61, of Gaston, will be private. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Sandra Cook passed away May 27, 2020. Born in Kingston, New York, she was a daughter of the late Charles H. Forbes and Evelyn Juanita McCaston.

Sandra was an amazing daughter, sister, mother, Ma'am (grandma), friend and teacher. Sandra graduated Summa Cum Laude from Columbia College with a master’s degree in education. She had a deep passion for children.  Whether it was her own, or the children she taught. Sandra played a big role as a Girl Scouts leader for many years as well as serving on the School’s PTA board.

Family was important to her. Sandra loved to travel and explore. She loved camping trips with the family and was always up for a new adventure.

Sandra always left an impression where ever she went. She had a heart of gold. Sandra will always be remembered by all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Amanda Lynn Forbes (Anthony) of Sanford, NC, Sarah Marie Mack of Gaston; grandchildren, Olivia Forbes, Hunter Muse, Damien Andrews, Evelyn Mack, Sophia Frazier; sister, Alyson Doub (David) of Lexington, SC; brother, Douglas Forbes of Pinehurst, NC; Sandra was survived by several nieces and nephews, and 1 great nephew. Sandra was predeceased by her parents.
