Obituary of Douglas Raymond McCracken

Douglas Raymond McCracken, 68, of Columbia, SC passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at his daughter’s residence near Irmo from congestive heart failure and kidney failure.  Douglas was born April 24, 1952 in Ames, Iowa to the late Ralph and Virginia McCracken. While Doug lived in Cary, NC and Ridgeway, SC, he spent the majority of his life as a resident of Lugoff, SC in Kershaw County. Douglas spent most of his life outdoors for his career in construction and selling construction supplies, but he was truly his happiest when in the woods hunting game or fishing. He loved sharing and teaching his love of the outdoors to friends and family. 

Douglas is survived by his sister, Jo Ellen McCracken of Marion, VA; his daughter, Virginia "Cille" McCracken-LeGrand and her husband Bryan; as well as his grandchildren, Daniel and Nathalie LeGrand, Samantha and Diana Ferrell; as well as his beloved dogs Belle and Rover.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Wildlife Care, 5551 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.
