Obituary of Sandra Jean Banty (Vliet)

 Sandra Jean Banty (Vliet) – Columbia – A Celebration of Life service for Sandra Jean Banty (Vliet), 70, of Columbia, will be held at 7:00 PM, Monday, December 23, 2019 at True Life Fellowship, 4731 Edmund Highway, West Columbia, SC 29170. Pastor Rick Noffko will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service in the church. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.

Sandra Jean Banty (Vliet) passed away December 18, 2019. Born in Emporia, VA, she was the daughter of the late Vernon Edward Banty and Catherine Wright Banty. Sandra loved Jesus, and her mission was to lead people to Jesus. She had a passion for helping those in need; especially those who were struggling with drug addiction. She also had a strong heart for prison ministry. Sandra held bible study classes at Finlay House, and sent out daily devotionals to friends and family. She was a faithful member at True Life Fellowship, where she led the prayer ministry and flag worship ministry.

Sandra is survived by her son, Thomas Moore (Jodie) of Irmo; 3 grandchildren; brother, Tom Banty (Judy) of West Columbia; a niece, Samantha Gutnecht; and a large and loving extended family. In addition to her parents, Sandra was predeceased by a brother, Wayne Banty, and a niece, Carrie Banty.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Oliver Gospel Mission, PO Box 7697, Columbia, SC, 29201. This request is made to assist the Mission’s crucial efforts in battling addiction and homelessness in the Midlands.
