Obituary of Barbara Ann Wilson

Barbara Ann Wilson was born on January 10, 1940 to William Henry Bolding Sr and Eleanor Mae Thomas of Columbia, South Carolina. Ann was the oldest of five children. She grew up playing basketball at Columbia High School, and kept an active life style all throughout her life.

Ann raised three daughters, Terri, Karen, and Jackie with Ernest Jack Wilson Jr. She juggled motherhood while attending college and went on to earn her Bachelors and Master’s degree in accounting from the University of South Carolina. After earning her degree, Ann worked for South Carolina Electric and Gas before retiring to a life of traveling.

Ann camped in all the major national parks with her brother, back packed through Europe twice, and explored China with friends. When she was not traveling, Ann enjoyed spending time with her close group of friends and staying active in her garden. She never met a piece of chocolate that she didn’t like, and looked forward to her very large iced coffees. She was happiest when spending time with her family sharing anecdotes and her latest antics.

Ann is survived by her daughters, Terri Ellis (Scott), Karen Able (Patrick), and Jackie Putnam; grandchildren, Chris Ellis, Barbara Ellis, Ian Able, and Lindsey Able; great grandson, Noah Able; her siblings, Jean Manini, Bill Bolding, Judy Doby (Rick), and Bobby Bolding.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the fourth floor ICU nurses at Lexington Medical Center and all the other medical professionals who have assisted in her care.
