Obituary of Danny Clayton Buford

Danny C. Buford, Sr. – A graveside service for Danny C. Buford, 76, of Lexington, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 17, 2023 at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072. The family will greet friends after the service at graveside.

Danny Buford passed away peacefully February 10, 2023. Born in Marietta GA, he was the son of the late J.T. and Clatie Newby Buford. Danny loved tinkering on old cars, and watching the Carolina Gamecocks play. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and partner who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. 

Danny is survived by his daughters, Melissa Buford (Chris) of Georgia, Jamie Hypes (Doug) of Texas; son, Jason Buford of Columbia; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; significant other, Gloria Thompson of Lexington; 2 sisters, Donna Rozier (Don) of Lexington, Candy Popalisky (Michael) of North Carolina, and a large and loving extended family. Danny is also survived by his Bichon, Gracie. Danny was predeceased by his parents and his beloved Lexie, the Bichon.

The family would like to thank the staff at Advanced Heart Center and Dr. Gopi Shah, MD, at Prisma Health for their professional care, and the staff of hospice for their loving care during his last days. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Drive, # 301, Cayce, SC 29033; St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or the charity of one’s choice.
