Obituary of Allen Jacob
A funeral service for Allen Jacob, 80, of West Columbia, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 22, 2023 at the Mausoleum Chapel of Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington. Pastor John Yorio will officiate. Burial in Woodridge Memorial Park will follow the service. The family will greet friends at Woodridge Funeral Home from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Woodridge Funeral Home, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington.
H. Allen Jacob went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 17th , seven days after his 80th birthday. Born and raised in Columbia, SC he was the son of the late Herbert W and Connie Jacob. Allen worked as a pipe fitter and embraced a strong work ethic. He was an avid gardener, when he was physically able, and had a sense of humor that kept family and friends laughing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Louise Reese Jacob; daughters, Debra (Dan) Weathersby and Kim (Chad) Cribb; sons, Marc Jacob and Craig Jacob; fourteen grandchildren: Marc (Megan), Ashland, David (Chelsee) Noah, Whitney (Justin) Carrington, Skyler, Jordan (Emily), MacKenzie, Zachary, Nick, Kam (Jade) Preston and Keltsey and eleven great grandchildren; Hannah, Logan, Myla, Gracen, Kaleigh, MeKenzie, Nolan, Roman, Vanessa, Dawson and Elliott. Allen is also survived by a brother, Eddie (Kathy) Jacob; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and Kevin Hunsaker, a friend who was like another son.
He was pre-deceased by his parents; sisters, Doris Beckham and Sally Sanders; brothers, Homer Jacob and Frankie Jacob.
