Obituary of Jean Reed
Jean Reed – A Home going service for Jean Reed, 87, of Chapin, will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 23, 2023, at the Lakeside Gazebo of Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Pastors Kathleen Miko and Karen Young will officiate. Interment in Woodridge Memorial Park will follow the service. After the burial service, the family will greet friends at Woodridge Funeral Home.
Jean Reed passed away January 16, 2023 at the Heritage at Lowman Healthcare Center. Born in Nicholls, GA, she was a daughter of the late Julian Bennett and Addie Westberry Bennett. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who was a woman of great faith. She loved her family above all else. Jean was the first person in her family to graduate from college, and graduated from San Jose State University with a BA in Marketing at the age of 42, and then received her Master’s degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, James R. Reed; sons, Ronald Gentile of Seattle, WA, Richard Gentile of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Pamela Gartman-Nilsen of Cody, WY; grandchildren, Christopher Gentile (Lindsay), David E. Gartman (Heidi), Brian P. Gartman (Rhonda), Nicole A. Foley (Tim); great-grandchildren, Paola and Kellan Gartman, Alexis Gartman, Amber and Sean Foley; brother, Neal Bennett; sister, Joy Gee. In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by a sister, Sandra Carstarphen.
