Obituary of Allan Gregory King

Allan Gregory King, loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend courageously lost his battle with cancer Wednesday morning, December 14, 2022.  Greg was born July 2, 1954 in Frederick, Maryland to Aleck Grant (AG) and Wilma King and raised in Mauldin, SC. He graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1972, where he played football and baseball. Early on he learned the family brick mason trade. After moving to Lexington in 1977, he went to work at Southern Bell as a telephone operator and line crew worker, eventually becoming an award-winning telephone system salesman for AT&T/Lucent Technologies. In 1996 Greg decided to open his own retail store, hence the creation of Jade Moon Trunks and Treasures in Triangle City, West Columbia. His inventory soon expanded to include mopeds, four-wheelers and motorcycles. He was very proud of this successful business that he and his wife ran together. Greg was an avid golfer and loved playing a round at Hidden Valley Golf Course. He also enjoyed traveling and riding motorcycles.  Greg is survived by his wife, Lucia King; mother, Wilma King; siblings, Amelia Araujo, Kevin King and wife Darlene; four children, Lance King and wife Claudia, Marie Harrell and husband Paul, Marina Deoliveira and husband Tiago, Gabriela Barits and husband Gustavo Deoliveira; six grandchildren, Grace Harrell, Gabriel Deoliveira, Elsie Harrell, Matheus Deoliveira, Maria Deoliveira and Bianca Deoliveira.
