Obituary of Valeriy Filipets

Valeriy Filipets, 66, of Lexington, passed away November 13, 2022, at his residence. He was born on January 4, 1956 in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan to Nikolay and Elizaveta (Matasova) Filipets. 

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Olga Bryantseva; and sons, Yakov (Tatyana) Filipets, and Nikolay Filipets; and grandchildren, Landon Filipets and Masha Filipets.  

Valeriy worked construction most of his life and is most remembered by his craftsmanship and willingness to help. 

The family will receive friends at Woodridge Funeral Home and Memorial Park on November 17, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Funeral services will be at Holy Apostles Orthodox Church on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 1 p.m. with the Fr. Ignaceous officiating.

Interment will take place at Celestial Memorial Gardens immediately following the funeral service.
