Obituary of Leroy Taylor

Leroy Taylor, 94, passed to eternal peace on Monday, September 19, 2022.  Mr. Taylor was born in Cairo, Ga. on July 5, 1928 and was employed with The City of Columbia, SC Parks and Recreation Department for over 30 years. 

He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Taylor Pollock (Jim), Columbia, SC; grandchildren; William Byrd, Jr, Columbia, SC, Candice Wizer (Freeman), Nashville, TN, Richard Green (Ashley), Lexington, SC; great-granddaughter; Macie Marilynn Green, Lexington, SC; sister, Violet Branham, Ridgeway, SC; nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Anne Hutto Taylor; daughter, Tina Taylor Green; sisters, Edna Butts, Gladys Kellner,and Dorothy Johnstone; brothers, Jesse Taylor and Jack Taylor.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Columbia Presbyterian Community and Crescent Hospice for the care and support they showed Mr. Taylor and the family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Mausoleum Chapel at Woodridge Memorial Park and Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Presbyterian Communities of SC (PCSC)-Columbia Location, 2817 Ashland Rd, Columbia,S.C. 29210
