A Celebration of Life service for Blanche Valvano, 90, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 28, 2022 at the Lakeside Gazebo of Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC.
Blanche Valvano passed away August 25, 2022 at her home in Columbia. She began her 9 decades on Earth as a tough yet positive orphan running the streets of Philadelphia, PA. She used her sharp wit and inquisitive nature to not only survive but thrive under extraordinary conditions. She was quite the dancer, water-color artist and phenomenal story teller. Her deep love of music, theater and overall creativity was poured over all who enjoyed her company.
Although a diminutive beauty, Blanche’s heart was 10 times her physical size, and she used it to help many less fortunate people as a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Her fervent faith became infectious to everyone she met.
She is already missed, but we are doubly blessed to look forward to seeing her again in Glory! GOD BLESS YOU, Blanche! He has certainly used YOU mightily to bless us all! We love you!
Blanche is survived by her three sons, Mike Valvano (Nancy), Tom Valvano, and John Valvano (Lori); grandsons, Joseph, Nicholas, Tommy (Sierra) and Sean Valvano; granddaughter, Brianna; great-granddaughters, Evelyn and Joanna; sister, Helen.
She was predeceased by her father and mother, John Joseph Quinn and Marion Reilly; husband, Michael Valvano; sister, Nancy and four brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2350 Augusta Hwy, Lexington, SC 29072.
