Dianne Hawks

Obituary of Dianne Hawks

Vera Dianne Hawks, 68, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, July 06, 2022 at her home in West Columbia, SC.  She was born February 27, 1954 in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

Dianne was the first female to get her Criminal Justice degree from Louisiana State University and also received her degree in music from Georgia College in Milledgeville, GA.  Dianne worked as a paralegal in GA for over thirty years and then as a music teacher for over ten years.

Dianne's greatest joy were her children--her daughters, Krista and Emily, and her son, Jake.  Dianne also loved spending time with her 3 grandchildren--Seth, Jamey, and Marie.  She took being a mother and a Mimi very seriously.

Dianne met her husband, Timothy T. Hawks, in November, 2018 and the two were married in June, 2019.  They enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, and serving the Lord together.  They were members of Providence Presbyterian Church in West Columbia, SC.  Dianne never met a stranger. She was loved by all that met her,  and she could light up any room.   Her strength, along with her faith in God, will always be an inspiration to all that loved and knew her, and she will be greatly missed.

Surviving is her loving husband, Timothy T. Hawks of West Columbia, SC; her daughter, Krista Smith of Toomsboro, GA; her son, Jake Holland (Michelle) of Louisiana, her daughter, Emily Emmons (Ben) of Lawrenceville, GA; her grandsons, Seth and Jamey Smith; her father, Larry C. Bailes of Marietta, OH; her brothers, Jeff and LC Bailes; her sisters, Becky Snyder and G.G. Ludwigg; and her stepchildren, Robert (Lynn and Marie), Tim (Stacy), and Caralytta Hawks.

A Service of Remembrance for Dianne Hawks will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Providence Presbyterian Church, 1112 Hummingbird Drive, West Columbia, SC 29169.  Her remains will be interred in the Church Memorial Garden following the service.
