I was so sad to learn of Paula's passing. My sister Deb and I helped her get her new cats. We loved Paula so much, but never realized she was a native Texan as we are. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Her death reminds me of a line from one of my favorite Texas singers, Nanci Griffin:
And when she dies
She will catch some blackbirds wing
Then she will fly away to Heaven come
Some sweet blue bonnet spring.

My thoughts to all of Paula's family. It is difficult enough to lose her as a friend. I can't imagine the pain of those closest to her

Paula and I were second or third cousins. We joined her and her family several times at USC Football games. Becoming friends in Facebook I enjoyed her fur babies and getting to know her better.
Paul and Dorenda, I will keep you both in my prayers. I am so very sorry for our loss.

I will always remember you as a smiling, happy, and caring person. I appreciated you tolerating my banter about 8th grade algebra. Rest in peace.

I was fortunate to have worked alongside Paula in the music ministries at both Trinity and Park Street churches. I was even more fortunate to call her my friend. I am sure heaven's choir sounds even better now with her in the soprano section. And I look forward to hearing her sing again one day.
To the family: I know it's hard to lose both Paula and "Mrs. Faye" in 4 months time. But as our Pastor "Sam" at Park Street said many times...."We haven't lost them. We know exactly where they are." They are safe in the arms of their Savior forevermore.
I pray for you peace and comfort that only He can provide.

Oh Paula, I am so sorry this happened to you. You are definitely gone too soon. I will truly miss your sweet personality and beautiful smile. My heart is so sad it aches. I am glad you did not have to continue to suffer and be in pain. Rest In Peace my sweet friend. I know that God . .has another beautiful angel in His heavenly choir. Love and miss you so much already. Your forever friend, Lynnette Bland.

I was lucky enough to meet Paula in 2018 when I was invited to Blogpaws, a pet blogging event in the USA. She was a force of nature with a passion for her Persian cats. Her leadership over the past year of the Cat Writers' Association, and especially her determination that our virtual conference would be a huge success (it was!) made me proud to be a member. She made a difference to so many lives in so many places.
Thank you for your friendship Paula.

Paula and I attended the same church (Trinity Baptist Cayce) and sang in the choir together. I always enjoyed her solos. It's still hard to believe she is not with us on earth but she is singing praises to Jesus in person! Continued prayers for all her friends and family.
