Obituary of Charlie Paschal

Faithful Servant

       John Charles "Charlie" Paschal, 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, after a brief illness.  Charlie was born in Biscoe, NC to Bessie Evelyn and Lacy Rudolph Paschal. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, with a BS in Journalism and Mass Communications.

       Charlie retired as a Sports Writer and Computer Journalist from the Knight-Ridder Corporation. He also retired as the Webmaster for the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.

       Charlie was a beloved member of the community through his selflessness and servant's heart and married Geanie Holliman on October 11, 1981. He was a faithful member of Life Springs Worship Center.

        Charlie is survived by his soul mate, Geanie; son, Johnny Paschal; daughter-in-law Cassandra; grandson, Chase; granddaughters, Keiser and Justus, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roger, Hugh and LR; as well as a sister, Mary Fraley; and niece, Pam Paschal.

         Charlie loved his family and enjoyed ministering with others. He also loved telling stories and jokes and always enjoyed a good laugh. He was a member of the Midlands USBC Bowling Hall of Fame for his coverage of the sport, as well as his participation.

         A Memorial Service for Charlie Paschal will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Mausoleum Chapel at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC, 29072.
