Marilyn Kauffman

Obituary of Marilyn Euteve Kauffman

Psalm 55:6

I said, "Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest".

Marilyn Euteve Kauffman was born on January 8, 1940 in Lebanon, OR and was the eldest daughter of Doris Euteve Borntreager and Richard Carl Kauffman. She was welcomed into the afterlife by her parents, grandparents, sister, and beloved dog, Toby, with open arms and paws on February 16, 2022.

Marilyn’s most treasured relationships were those of her two daughters, Michelle and Marina; her grandchildren, Justin, Robyn, Dylan, and Alyssa; her sister, Maxine; and her brother, Richie, all of whom she will be survived by.

Marilyn dedicated her life to helping countless women and men feel as beautiful on the outside as they were on the inside while working as a cosmetologist. She was very successful and naturally talented, winning multiple awards and certificates over the decades. She created a strong bond with her clients and truly enjoyed her profession.

Even after retiring from cosmetology, Marilyn continued to add touches of zest and beauty to the world through her love of gardening and collecting antiques. She was a remarkable artist and writer and an avid reader of all books, but she particularly enjoyed philosophical texts and those by Ayn Rand.

Marilyn was very proud of her family and loved them endlessly - keeping every letter, card, and photograph she received or took. Her compassion, sharp wit, endearing stubbornness, and commitment to her family and Toby were the pillars of her personality that were known and cherished by all she met.

Her plants and her memory will live on, always.

A farewell service will be held for Marilyn at 3:00pm on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Woodridge Memorial Park Lakeside Gazebo. Pastor Mark Bredholt will officiate the service with eulogies and stories shared by family members. Her family requests you wear the color red to the service, as it was her favorite color.

Marilyn’s family suggest those wishing to make memorials please do so to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at www.cff.org.
