Obituary of Roy Kievlan
Leroy “Roy” Norman Kievlan – West Columbia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Leroy “Roy” N. Kievlan, 91, of West Columbia at 10:00 AM, on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at The Basilica of St. Peter, 1529 Assembly St, Columbia. Father Gary Linsky will celebrate the Mass. Interment will be in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Monday, December 13, 2021 at Woodridge Funeral Home, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, 29072.
Roy Kievlan passed away December 1, 2021. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, he was a son of the late Harold Frances Kievlan and Ella Mae Lyles Kievlan. He served his country in the US Air Force as a navigator, and retired as a Major. Following his Air Force career, Roy was an accountant with Richland Memorial Hospital and retired from the hospital after 20 years of service. He was a faithful member of The Basilica of St. Peter, where he served as Payroll Administrator for more than 30 years. Roy was an amateur genealogist, and also enjoyed sports cars and sports car rallies for many years.
Roy is survived by his loving children, Kathy Waltman, Hal Kievlan, Janet Hill (John), Sharon Kievlan; grandchildren, April Mills (Shaun), John M. Hill, Eric Asbill, Chelsea Ford (Megan) and Clayton Asbill; great-grandchildren, Ashton Lammons, Katlyn Mills, Camryn Mills, Alice Lucas. In addition to his parents, Roy was predeceased by his loving wife, Dorothy “Dot” Kievlan, and his brother, Harold Kievlan.
