Obituary of Robert Stephen Speaks

OBITUARY – Robert Stephen Speaks – West Columbia – A memorial service for Robert Stephen Speaks, 65, of West Columbia, will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Mausoleum Chapel at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Pastor Steve Kittrell will officiate. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the Mausoleum Chapel. Woodridge Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Steve Speaks passed away November 24, 2021. Born in Atlanta, GA, he was a son of Irene Louise Gregg Speaks, and the late Charles William Speaks. Steve was a dedicated Alabama football fan, and was a very talented carpenter. He could draw and created amazing works of art. He also enjoyed fishing and 1955 Chevrolet trucks. Steve was a loving son, partner, father, grandfather and brother who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother, Steve is survived by his Partner in Life, Kathy Bright; son, Christopher Stephen Speaks (Vida Joy) of Lexington; granddaughter, Alana Rose Speaks; brother, Velton Speaks (Marina) of Bluffton; sister, Jenny Baker (Wayne) of Okatie; brother, Dale Speaks of Valley, Alabama.

In addition to his father, Steve was predeceased by his brother, Charles Stanley Speaks, sister, Vicky Gilliland, grandmother, Pearl Gregg.
