Obituary of Susan Madeline Shunkwiler-Franke

OBITUARY – Susan Madeline Shunkwiler-Franke – Gaston – Services for Susan Madeline Shunkwiler-Franke, 56, of Gaston, will be private. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family with arrangements. Susan was born and reared in Cuyahoga and Lake County, Ohio, the daughter of Susan and Larry Shunkwiler, Sr. She graduated from Irmo High School, and was a long-time employee at Harsco Rail Company. Susan was a loving daughter, wife, sister and aunt who loved animals. Her hobbies included sewing, antiquing and traveling. Susan faithfully attended church at Willow Ridge Baptist Church. She will be missed dearly by her family and many friends.

Susan is survived by her husband of 11 years, Jeffrey L. Franke; her mother, Susan Margaret Shunkwiler; brothers, Larry E. Shunkwiler, Jr. of Lexington, William Shunkwiler of Columbia, Frank Shunkwiler of Painesville, OH; nieces, Allison, Lauren, and Dana Shunkwiler. Susan is also survived by her loving dog, Nina Marie. Susan was predeceased by her father, Larry E. Shunkwiler, Sr.
