Obituary for Lawrence Frank Sears

Lawrence “Larry” Frank Sears, 77, of Columbia, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on July 9, 2018. He was born on June 23, 1941 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Carl and Emily (Burnham) Sears.  Larry graduated from Morrisville College with a degree in Medical Technology with a minor in chemistry.  He completed his Masters degree later in life.  Larry worked in the nuclear energy field for over 30 years.  When he was not working, Larry enjoyed golfing, painting, reading and was very interested in Civil War History.  Larry most loved his family.  The time he could spend with his wife, children and grandchildren were treasured.  He will be missed by those he loved and those that loved him.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years Mary “Meg” Sears, children; Robert Sears (Beth), Lawrence “Guy” Sears, Jr. (Darlene), Timothy Sears, Richard Sears (Susan), Cheryl Sears and Jennifer Sears, grandchildren; William “Wes” Sears (Courtney), Andrew Sears (Chauncéy), Matthew Sears (Alexandra), Amanda Sears, Brandon Sears, Ana Sears, Cayden Barnett, great-grandchildren; Ahren Sears, Peyton Sears and Scarlett Sears.  Larry also leaves behind sisters; Diane Shields (Andrew) and Linda Huntington.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Woodridge Mausoleum Chapel, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072 on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association, American Lung Association's National Office, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601 or at www.lung.org.
