Gary was such a terrific guy, I used to play basketball with him on a daily basis at the "Y" and I really used to enjoy him very much. He was always upbeat and really just a great all around gentleman. I lost touch with him a long time ago and honestly I never ever look at the newspaper but for some reason I looked Sunday and when I saw Gary it completely broke my heart. He was such a good soul and what I just remember most about him was he was always calm, level headed and as I said just a good soul. I know he will be missed and I just wanted to pass along my most sincere sympathies and say I know the world is less without him.

I knew Gary for more than 20 years; mostly as a great tennis partner (and worthy opponent) but also as a true gentleman who was funny, competitive without being abrasive and always positive. I am so sorry for the loss his family faces. Gary would occasionally mention something about his wife and children after a match and always with obvious love and affection.

Jan and family,
Tom and I were so saddened to see news of Gary’s passing. It has been a pleasure sitting behind y’all at each home game in Memorial Stadium - we have many good memories celebrating Tiger wins. He will be missed. You have our deepest sympathies.

Jan I hated to hear about Gary’s passing.
I remember all the time we spent playing tennis together. He was a great tennis player, but what I remember the most was his great personality.
I also know that we both shared our love for those Clemson Tigers. It will be strange not looking up and seeing him in the stadium.
If there is anything we can do to help, please let me know.

Rita and I are so saddened to hear of Gary's passing. I enjoyed playing tennis and talking about our Tigers with Gary for years. He was a great guy. I was looking forward to seeing him walking in our neighborhood again after his surgery. We will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jan and her family.

I am so sorry to hear of Gary’s passing. Gary hired me 23 years ago at my first real job. He was such a patient and kind person who taught me so much about the mortgage industry but more importantly his way of dealing with people has stuck with me all these years. My condolences to Jan and the entire family.

I work with Gary for awhile at TD Bank. He always had a smile on his face. He was a wonderful person. He and I always talk about our Clemson Tigers. I can still see him in our break room drinking his coffee and reading at lunch. RIP my dear friend. You will be missed. My prayers and thoughts are with each of you during this time. Sending hugs and prayers your way.

I am glad I had the pleasure of knowing Gary. He was so kind, gentle and had a loving spirit. You could tell he was genuine and honest. He was my direct manager for 3 years and a great mentor. I will not cry because he is not here but smile because I did get the chance to know him and form memories.
Gary definitely had success and left the world better than he found it. He had appreciation for all and expressed it with his jokes and smiles. He looked for the best in others and gave the best he had.
I will miss him so much. My deepest condolences, sympathy and prayers to his family and friends.

I have worked with Gary for years, I could write a novel about him. People said he was private and quiet but I knew him differently. He was humble, kind and would listen to anything you wanted to talk about , Gary was never judgmental of others views even if they were not the same as his. Gary always saw the best in everything, was always positive even under pressure.
Most of all he loved this family!! he talked a lot about them, Gary was not the bragging type but he sure didn't mind bragging about them.
He was a one of a kind person. I loved him, it was nothing I ever told and I wish I had the last day he came in to work to see us all, when you work with people every day for years they become like family and that is how I felt about Gary.
I will miss that man! My prayers for all of his family most especially his wife because to him she hung the stars.

I've only worked with Gary for a year and a half, but even that little bit of time, you can tell how wonderful a person he was. He was always making us laugh when we were frustrated, always willing to chat when we needed it. I'll always remember how much he talked about his family - showed how much he loved everyone. He was really looking forward to the new grandbaby in November.
I'm glad he came by the office when he did so we could all see him.
My prayers are with the family for peace and healing.
