Obituary of Gary M Eiserman

Gary M Eiserman, 75, of West Columbia, SC, passed away on August 25th, 2021. Gary was born in August 1945 to Charles and Mary (Merchant) Eiserman in Hanover, PA. Gary’s early years were spent in Hanover and after graduating high school, he went on to study accounting by working his way through college and later earning his CPA.

He served in the Army and was stationed for part of his service in Korea and Fort Lewis in Washington. After working for Peat Marwick Accounting Firm and the SEC, he partnered to form a company that licensed computers to business and government entities. The success of this company allowed Gary to retire early, but he continued to generate innovative ventures. After moving to SC he formed a business brokerage and real estate endeavor which fused his business experience and CPA skills with his eye for developing properties and successful commercial entities. His keen vision for improving a business’ prospects made him outstanding in the business brokerage realm. Another business venture he formed involved buying and selling timber tracts all over the state.

Gary was an avid pilot and flew his own plane to most of the Continental US states. He also traveled to many European and South American countries. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and marksmanship. For many years, Gary entertained family and friends on his farm and woodlands. He built a large pond, hatched ducks, taught family how to fish and enjoy nature. His property, known as Many Acre Woods, hosted family and friends for fishing and hunting as well as cub scouts and their outdoor activities.

Family was immensely important to Gary. He stayed close to his parents, daughter and siblings and had special bonds with his nieces and nephews and grandchildren, often showering them with attention and gifts. Gary was proud of his daughter Lynn and her daughters. He was generous with his advice and offered his wisdom freely.

Gary is survived by his wife Patricia; his daughter, Lynn (Louis) Petrik; sisters, Betty Fulco and Rose Morgan; brother, John (Diana) Norwig; grandchildren, Lauren, Nicole, Amanda, Natalie, Fiona, Dylan, George, Duncan, Sophie, Russell, Nora Jack, Bridie, Hunter, Connor. His special nieces and nephews include Susan, Steven, Belinda, Babetta, Beth, Erin, Luke, Nicholas, Jonathan, Laure.
