Obituary of Lynn L. Cavender
A graveside service with full military honors for First Sergeant Lynn L. Cavender, US Army (Ret.) will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 19, 2011 in Woodridge Memorial Park of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the hour of the service at Woodridge Funeral Home, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
Mr. Cavender passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2011. Born in Amory, MS, he was the son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Cavender and Era Gray Irvin Cavender. Mr. Cavender was a 24 year veteran of the US Army, having served two tours of duty in Vietnam and several tours of duty in Germany with the Army Corps of Engineers. During his military career, he received numerous awards, including the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. He enjoyed travelling, especially RV camping, and also traveled extensively in Europe. His favorite times were spent with his loving family, especially with his grandkids.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 44 years, Edeltraud Cavender; his family, Sandy, Diana, Nicholas, Joshua, David, Mike, Maria, Natalie, Sascha, Manfred, Michelle, Helmut, Linda, Virginia, Tony, Gladys, and many friends.
