Obituary of BETTY HARRIS GARRISON

Betty Harris Garrison passed into eternal life on Saturday, April 9, 7:15am, at Park Summit Facility, in Coral Springs, Florida. Mrs. Garrison, age 91, was born to Cecelia Mae (Wright) and Lewis Nye Erwin in Irwin, Ohio, August 11, 1919. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil Garrison. Currently a two year resident of Florida, she made the Columbia SC area her home, beginning in 1969. She was beloved by many friends and family members, who enjoyed her engaging smile and personality. She also enjoyed gardening, and loved her church. In addition to a brother, Rex Erwin (Fran), of Michigan; survivors include: four Children: John Monroe (Nancy) of N.C.; Paul Robert (Sue) of Texas; Martha Sue Crane (Steve) of AZ; and Elizabeth Jane ?Betsi? Harris (Steve) Fla; Grandchildren: Christopher and Steve Harris, (N.C.) David, Scott, Bob, and Elizabeth Harris (Texas); Amber Fontana (Gary), of AZ; and Great-grandchildren: Gabriella and Sophia Harris (N.C.), Analese Fontana (AZ) and Cobe Harris (Fla). Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, April 15, 2011 at The Chapel at Woodridge Cemetery, 138 Corley Mill Road Lexington, SC 29072 with The Rev. Torrie Osgood, of First Christian Church of Columbia, officiating. Christian burial will immediately follow in Woodridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers include: Mark Harris, Ken Harris, Steven Crane, Steve Harris, Bob Simmons, and Chad Shumpert.
