Obituary of Loretta D. Luberoff

Loretta D. Luberoff, 90, of West Columbia, SC passed away peacefully on Monday morning January 9, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Queens, New York on September 1, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Loretta Brown. And in the end, it?s not the years in your life that count. It?s the life in your years. ? Abraham Lincoln. Loretta was a woman who enjoyed life and the company of friends and family. She could light up a room with her smile and her dance moves. She enjoyed being out in the community meeting new people and occasionally a nice glass of wine. Loretta was quite the bowler making strikes well into her 80?s. She volunteered at the Shepard Center for many years giving back and helping others through her life experiences. Her culinary exploits include her famous rice pudding. Loretta had the opportunity to travel all over the world with her late husband Ted and take in the many cultures of the world. Loretta is predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years Theodore ?Ted? Luberoff who passed in 1997. Survivors include her three daughters Leslie (Michael) Weinrib, Lenore Luberoff and Arlene (Steve Badman) Luberoff; three sons Doug (Susan) Luberoff, Paul Luberoff and Phil (Lisa) Luberoff and her eight grandchildren Kathryn, Meredith, Christopher, Lauren, Sarah, Michael, Gillian and David. The family will receive visitors on Thursday evening January 12, 2012 from 6-8 P.M. at 1427 Blackbird Drive in West Columbia. A funeral mass will take place on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 10 A.M. in Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church 120 Marydale Lane Columbia. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Loretta?s memory to Harmony Care Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Woodridge Funeral Home Lexington, SC.
