Obituary of Shirley King Arnold

West Columbia, SC Mrs. Shirley King Arnold passed away at home on Saturday, March 24, 2012. She was born July 4, 1936 in Horry County, SC, a daughter of William and Eva King. Shirley Arnold was a mother with a gentle soul who embraced life?s joys and endured its hardships. She taught all of us how to love. Shirley is survived by her husband of 54 years, Delph P. Arnold of West Columbia. She is also survived by her five daughters: Sherie Conner (Dennis) of Raleigh, NC; Linda Hook (Joel) of West Columbia; Liz Anderson of Lexington; Lydia Frierson (Allen) of Chapin; Sallie Syracuse (Meyer) of Irmo; and four sons: Davis Arnold (Jennifer) of Lexington; Sam Arnold (Dorothy) of Lexington; Taber Arnold (Ashley) of Lexington; Malcolm Arnold (Amy) of West Columbia; one sister: Betty Pitcock (Robert) of Augusta, GA and one brother: Ben King of Orlando, FL. Shirley had 18 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, March 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Woodridge Funeral Home. A graveside service will be help at Woodridge Memorial Park on Monday, March 26 at 10 a.m.
