Obituary of Mina Anna Harsey

Mina Anna Harsey, 65, of Columbia, SC passed away peacefully on Monday morning March 26, 2012 at Palmetto Baptist surrounded by her loving family. Born January 23, 1947 in Regensburg, Germany she was the daughter of the late Josef and Anna Kohler Traber. Mina loved her family and enjoyed every precious moment with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her family brought her great joy and she was a devoted caregiver to all in need. She worked as a cook at Fort Jackson for 25 years. Mina was known for her exceptional cooking skills and was talented at cooking American and International dishes. Mina enjoyed the company of a good slot machine at the casino and her family trips to Florida. She also enjoyed the many pleasures of the outdoors such as gardening and fishing. Mina is predeceased by her loving husband of 26 years Benjamin C. Harsey, Jr and her great granddaughter Keanna Wood-Hogg. Survivors include her son Joey ?McLovin? Harsey of Cayce, SC; two daughters Angie Jacobs of Columbia and Gina (Mike) Coker of Blythewood; two sisters Reddel Williams and Kitty Rothermel; eight grandchildren Storm Harsey, Summer Harsey, Autumn Harsey, Crystal Jacobs, Sabrina Jacobs, Kayla Jacobs, Ben Coker and Austin Coker; one great granddaughter Jasmine Jacobs. Mina is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brother and sister-in-laws. A memorial service to celebrate Mina?s life will take place on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in Alpine Baptist Church, 4930 Alpine Road in Columbia. A visitation will take place from 9:30 A.M. until the start of the service. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Inurnment will take place at Woodridge Memorial Park Lexington.
