Obituary of Sandra K Avant

Sandra K. Avant, 70, of Lexington, SC passed away peacefully on May 16, 2012 at Lexington Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born August 2, 1941 in Walterboro, SC, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Eleanor Matthews Avant. Sandra was the Deputy Commissioner of Labor for the State of South Carolina for over 30 years until her retirement. She enjoyed playing golf and was a member of several leagues. Sandra is predeceased by her brother Franklin Avant who passed away in 1982. Survivors include her sister Gayle Avant and her husband Marvin McDaniel of Maggie Valley, NC; one niece and nephew; several great nieces and nephews and several great great nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Sandra?s life will take place on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at 2 P.M. in the Woodridge Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel 138 Corley Mill Road Lexington. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one?s choice.
