Obituary of Roy A. Costley

A memorial mass for Roy A. Costley, 75, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, 120 Marydale Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. Father David Whitman will officiate the service. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Woodridge Funeral Home is assisting the family. Mr. Costley died on October 13, 2012, after a long illness. Born in Pomaria, SC, Roy was the only child of the late Alton G. and Mary Lou Ringer Costley. He is survived by his wife, Eileen, sons, James Alton (Angela) of Pearland, TX, Bryan Eugene of West Columbia, Ronald Keith (Janet) of Lexington and Roy Douglas of West Columbia. Grandchildren are Michelle Lutz, Ashley Minkle, Michael Costley, Danielle Costley, Samantha Costley, and Tasha Costley and step grandchildren, Brooke and Thomas Simmons. Great grandchildren, Jackson and Delaney and step-great grandchildren, Kiley and Paisley. Roy retired from Policy Management Systems in 1990 after 32 years and again retired in 1998 from Inspire Insurance Solutions. He was owner of his own small business management company, Corporate and Administrative Services. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a Mason with the Peak Lodge and a former Shriner with Jamil Temple. Heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the dedicated staff at the Cassells Health Care Center at the Presbyterian Community of South Carolina for their compassion, dedication and kindness. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Riverbanks Zoological Society, 500 Wildlife Parkway, Columbia, SC 29210.
