Obituary of Janette Goss Rodgers

Janette Goss Rodgers of Cayce, South Carolina passed away Friday Feb. 23, 2018. There will be a graveside service at Woodridge Memorial Park Tuesday February 27th at 11:00 AM with Rev Mark Bredholt officiating. Mary Janette Stack was born on October 19, 1934 in Johnston, South Carolina to Walter Stack and Virginia (Lott) Stack. Janette is survived by her son, Tommy Russell Goss (Cheryl); her sister, Margaret Elders (Gene); her 5 grandchildren, Wade Goss, Brandie Wicks (Scott), Nancy Bailey (Michael), Chris Goss (Jessica) and Aaron Goss (Anna); and 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 11 years, Evie Irby Goss, Jr.; her second husband of 53 years, Charles W. Rodgers; her brother, Walter K. Stack, Jr.; and her sister, Virginia Stack. Janette was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was dedicated to her family and friends. She was always active and ready to help in any way she could. Janette was a graduate of Columbia High School. She had been a dedicated employee to C&S Bank and then later retired as an executive secretary from SCE&G (SCANA). She and her husband, Charles, were avid bass fishermen and spent every moment they could in their boat on various lakes around the country. He and Janette were active members of the SC ABA (American Bass Anglers Association for couples). Janette loved her grandchildren and especially spending Christmas, birthdays and other holidays with them. She will be missed by her family and friends. Woodridge Memorial Park and Funeral Home is assisting with the services.
