Obituary of Faye Schoon

Dorthea Faye Crouch Schoon – IRMO – Services for Dorthea Faye Crouch Schoon, 87, of Irmo, will be private. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Faye Schoon passed away peacefully on July 5, 2021. Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Mark Lewis Crouch and Laudie Underwood Crouch. Faye enjoyed getting together with family and friends. She took great pleasure in her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s accomplishments. She loved dancing, flowers and decorating, but most of all, her Clemson Tigers. 

Faye is survived by her daughters, Karen Kiser (Dennis) of Fletcher, NC, Kym Beckham (Warren) of Myrtle Beach, SC; son, William Calhoun “Chip” Newland, IV (Phyllis) of Chattanooga, TN; daughter, Jane Mundell (Jeff) of Prosperity, SC; grandchildren, Wendy Ainsley (Jason), Brett Kiser (Amy), Karen Pillow (Scott), Laura Davis (Brad), Hailey Mundell, Anya Mundell, Devin Mundell, Chris Newland (Amy), Ashley Smith; many loving great-grandchildren; sister, Cindy Greene (Donald) of Cedar Mountain, NC; cousins, Pat Kingsmore (Stan) and Maryann Sedberry.

In addition to her parents, Faye was predeceased by her husbands, William “Bill” Calhoun Newland, III, Marvin Schoon; sisters, Shirley Turbyfill and Sandra Bolton.

The family would like to thank the staff of Harbison Shores Assisted Living, Lexington Medical Center and MSA Hospice for their thoughtful and loving care.
