



Obituary of Beverly Ann Graves
Beverly Ann Graves, 70, was born February 2, 1951 in Hagerstown, Maryland and passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 in Saint Matthews, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Patricia James and the late Theodore Roosevelt James.
Beverly attended her high school years in Peru, South America. She graduated from Yarinacocha High School in Pucallpa, Peru. After attending Columbia Bible College for two years, she then went to Hagerstown Junior College in Maryland to get her Associates Degree in nursing. After raising her children, she went back to school at the University of South Carolina and got her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
. She was a lifelong nurse and founding president of the South Carolina chapter of the Association of Occupational Health Professionals. She retired from Palmetto Health Baptist Medical Center, after working there close to 30 years. She also worked for Eau Claire Health Centers and various hospice agencies. Mrs. Graves was a charter member of Columbia Presbyterian Church
She is survived by her mother, Patricia James; her son and daughter-in-law, Theodore and Sarah Thames, grandchildren, Jeffery and Bruce Stokes, and Ruby, Teddy, Dain and Shull Thames; her siblings, Trisha Hale, Dennis James, Kep James, and Linda Valentine. She was predeceased by her father, Ted James; husband, John Graves; daughter, Heidianne Dewar; and sister in law, Debbie James.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Columbia Presbyterian Church, 2244 Sumter Street, Columbia, SC, 29201. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Columbia Presbyterian Church (at the above address) for their Mercy Ministry.
