Obituary for Curtis Hygema
Curtis Ray Hygema , 76 , of Cayce , South Carolina, husband of Alice Smith Hygema, went to be with Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, Friday February 26, 2021. He was born on April 13, 1944, in Beards Fork , West Virginia, to the late Ralph and Carolyn McKinney Hygema. He retired from Norfork Southern Railroad and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and The Gideons International.
In addition to his loving wife of 54 years, he is survived by three daughters, Deanna Castellow (Tad), April Blazejewski (Steve) and Marleen Hygema; five grandchildren, Tad (Anna) Castellow, Jr., McKenna Castellow, Caitlyn Blazejewski, Joel Castellow and Brandt Blazejewski; three brothers, Guy, Paul, and Johnny Hygema; one sister, Betty Lou White, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Dale Rae Hygema, and one brother, Walter Hygema.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Trinity Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM prior to the service at the church. A private burial will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
