Obituary of Wilson Joshua Carswell

Wilson Joshua Carswell – Lexington – Services for Wilson Joshua Carswell, 37, of Lexington, will be held at a later date. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family with arrangements. Josh Carswell passed away February 20, 2021. Born in Bamberg, Germany, he was a son of Valarie Wilson Carswell, and the late Robert Dale Carswell.

Josh is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Shannon W. Carswell; children, Bella L Carswell, Savannah A Widener, Liam W Carswell, Tucker J Carswell; brothers, Jonathan A Carswell (Whitney) and Robert D Carswell, II (Fame); stepmother, Rebekah M. Carswell; step-father, Steve Wiser; stepbrother, Tanner Bomar; in-laws, Sandra and Billy Crouch, Tim Widener; grandfather, Wilson Carswell of Morganton, NC.

Josh and Shannon had been married for a short time, but have been in love for many years. Joshua loved his family more than anything in the world, and would do anything for them.  He was raised to believe that family is ALWAYS first, and he lived his adult life with that mantra.

 Joshua was a leader, with a love of life. The one thing he always said was, “To be a good leader, you have to work at 110%, no matter who is watching.” Even with his passing, we know he is still working at 110% with God, to watch over the family and create more leaders with the same dedication that he lived his life.

The family would like to thank Lexington Medical Center for his care during this time, especially the doctors and nurses on the SICU department. We were overwhelmed by the compassionate care given to him and family during this critical time.
