Fernando Quiroga

Obituary of Fernando Quiroga

We'll Always Love You, Dad!

Each day you strived to live,

Your body too weak to be.

Your love will live forever,

Since your heart has set you free.

Now you walk so bravely,

You feel the pain no more.

Angel's have come to guide you

And bring you to Heaven's door.

Memories we'll hold so dearly,

Your smile, warmed our hearts.

And through our lives you'll live,

You've touched so many parts.

Hard days may be before us,

It's all part of God's plan.

Why you left so soon,

We may never understand.

You'll be alone no longer,

And you'd tell us, "Don't be sad."

Please believe, you were no burden,

We'll always love you, Dad!

Our lives have changed forever,

Since the day you passed away.

In Heaven you'll be waiting

To meet us again someday.

Fernando Quiroga, 66, resident of West Columbia, passed away suddenly on January 25, 2021 at Lexington Medical Center.

Born May 2, 1954 in Lima OH, he was the son of Lucia Flores Quiroga and the late Francisco Quiroga. Mr. Quiroga moved to South Carolina where he and his family have resided for many years. He was employed with Waste Management Systems until his retirement. But beforehand worked at D K Enterprises located in Bowling Green, Ohio and with the City of Weslaco, Texas. While Fernando was not in the military, he cared deeply for our veterans and volunteered often with the VFW.

Fernando would love going to Waffle House and enjoyed eating biscuits and gravy and a hot cup of coffee with a little cream , early in the morning.  He also enjoyed going to the flea market on the weekends in hopes to find a good deal. Fernando was a big sports fan of the following: College Football Michigan Wolverines, NFL Oakland Raiders and MLB Detroit Tigers. He would have his day planned out when there was a Nascar race scheduled for that day. He loved his grandchildren all the same, he would be that grandpa that would watch Frozen everyday just to make his grandbabies smile, would sneak a piece of candy in their mouth without mom or dad finding out. Overall he was the GREATEST.

In addition to his mother, Fernando leaves behind a wife, Rosenda Orozco de Quiroga; four daughters, Angelica Perez, Crystal Quiroga (Juan Carlos Partida), Jessica Quiroga and Lluvisela Quiroga all of West Columbia; two sons, Francisco Javier Quiroga of Charlotte and Octavio Quiroga of West Columbia; three sisters, Diana Valdez of Elsa, TX, Sylvia Quiroga and Mona Coppes both of McComb, OH; five brothers, Luis (Sandy) Quiroga of Delphos, OH, Dennis (Chris) Quiroga of San Marcos, CA, Jesse (Sheri) Quiroga of Deshler, OH, Robbie (Tammy) Quiroga of McComb, OH and Anthony (Rita) Quiroga of Anaheim, CA; eight grandchildren, Mia, Yozelynn, Melanie, Valarie, Luis, Audric, Iker and Julian.
