Obituary of Aline L. Brown

Aline L. Brown , aged 87, of Columbia, SC, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.

 

Aline was born in Pageland, SC on June 7, 1933. She was the daughter of the former Curtis and Theodocia Lowery. She is predeceased by her devoted husband of 64 years, Albert M. Brown, as well as her brother Ben (Sue) Lowery and her sister Joan Nyoka (Alvin) Ellison. Aline leaves behind daughters, Wynne Dee B. (David T.) Cockfield of Lexington and Teresa B. “Terri” (Brian S.) Asbill of Lexington; grandchildren, Jessica C. (Joshua V.) Hinkel, Victoria C. (Justin M.) Goff, Tyler M. Asbill and Joshua S. Asbill, all of Lexington; great grandchildren, Connor L. and Harper A. Goff. Aline also leaves behind a brother Ernest (Miriam) Lowery of Weddington, NC, two sisters Faye Roberts of Durant, Oklahoma and Elaine Wrenn of Raleigh, NC, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Aline was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend to many. She received the most enjoyment out of life being surrounded by her family and friends. She was a longtime member of Virginia Wingard Memorial UMC, the Ladies Bible Class, United Methodist Women, the Gamecock Club and Carolina Baseball Dugout Club.

 

Aline retired from Southern Bell where she was an accountant. She enjoyed reading, solving daily crossword puzzles, sewing, quilting, needlepointing and attending University of South Carolina sporting events. Her greatest passion was cooking, baking and creating fun adventures with her grandchildren. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Lakeside Place and Agape Hospice House, both of Lexington, for their compassionate care and support of Mrs. Brown.
