Obituary of Patricia Anne McLean

Obituary

Patricia Anne Mclean was the beloved daughter of the late, Jacob Edwards Jr. and Frances Edwards of Mount Vernon, New York. She was born on November 7, 1955 in New York where she was raised. She was the second child born to this union.  She was a stellar student and won numerous awards, scholarships, certificates and attended college at the age of 16.

She was a child of the King.  Patricia was baptized at St. Catherine AME Zion Church in New Rochelle, New York at the age of 3. As a youngster the family would attend church on a regular basis and she participated in many activities such as ushering, Sunday school and vacation bible school.  As an adult, Patricia served as church secretary at Union Baptist Church in New Rochelle, New York. She is currently a member of Willow Ridge Baptist Church.  Patricia had a passion for attending church retreats, leading workshops, speaking at conferences and lending a hand in any capacity to advance the Word.

She dearly loved her son, Terrance and raised him to be a strong, loving and responsible man. She enjoyed sharing time with her daughter in law, Crystal.  Patricia adored and was very active in the lives of her grandchildren; Cameron and Bryana.  They were the joy of her life and she showered them with love, guidance, advice and the usual grandmotherly indulgences.  Nothing made her happier than fixing big feasts for the holidays, decorating, crafting and shopping.  She was very crafty and would create pamphlets, brochures, greeting cards and miscellaneous decorative items for the church or others.  Family was important to Pat and she would assist her siblings and their families when needed. She often took out of town trips to visit relatives or friends in New York, Maryland, Virginia and California because this was a chance to visit and a shop till you drop event.

Patricia was a hard worker and worked in various occupations such as manager of a dental practice, secretary and book keeper.  She worked in Bi-Lo before her passing.   Patricia Anne Mclean entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Lexington Medical Center in South Carolina.  She was 65 years old. She leaves to cherish her memory, Terrance and Crystal Mclean, Cameron Mclean and Bryana Mclean. Her mother, Frances Edwards, sisters: Brenda Henderson, Joyce Lee, Valerie Johnson and brothers: Jacob Edwards III, Richard Edwards. Nieces: Rikki Edwards, Liane Lee, La Teisha Edwards and Nephews: Michael Johnson, Jacob Edwards IV, Lamar Lee, Sean Blakeley, Jean Occeus. God brothers: Kenneth and Bobby Hicks; God sister, Delois Hicks; In-laws; Brodie Lee, Tameko Edwards, Crystal Johnson.  In addition, Robert Mclean, her former husband and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and church family.  Patricia has gone home to be with the Lord. We know that God is only a prayer away.

Sorrowfully submitted, The Family
