Obituary of Nancy Lou Light Jenkins Pugh

Mrs. Nancy Lou (Light) Jenkins Pugh, age 72, of Lexington, South Carolina, peacefully passed away early Saturday morning, December 26, 2020.  She was born on April 28, 1948, in Fall Branch, Tennessee in Washington County, the seventh of the eight children of the late Wilson and Opal Light.

 

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Pugh; a daughter, Connie Tubbs; four brothers and two sisters.

 

Survivors include a daughter, Valerie Butler (Duane); five granddaughters, Chastity Defrancisco (Eduardo), Anna Tubbs (Roberto), Kaitlyn Jones, Danielle Butler, and Kylie Butler; six great-grandchildren, Marisa Rodriguez, Julian Vazquez, Jayden Peralta, Christian Vazquez, Valentino Defrancisco, and Roman Vazquez; a sister, Kathy O’Steen; several nieces and nephews, Amber Couch (Nick).

 

She was a prior resident of Alexandria, Occoquan and Spotsylvania, Virginia and retired from Giant Food. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. Nancy was a strong, determined, and fiercely independent woman. She was selfless and always extended her hand to others in need.

 

She was a devoted Christian, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be immensely missed by all. She was a living example of Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32—“And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
