Eddie was a true friend mainly to the young people in school He helped many in different ways He will be remembered by the young people of every High School in Lexington County and he will be missed by all.
Eddie was a tremendous help around the courthouse. He often represented people who didn't have money enough to pay. He would do it pro bono. He was just an all-around good attorney and a good person.

You were greatly loved and will be missed my friend! I'll always remember you running down B avenue and parking your blue Mustang across the street from the Tabernacle. We had some good times there. I remember your safety pin you always wore. I can see you running those streets of gold in Heaven. Love you and RIP my friend!

Met Eddie many years ago; he was an amazing person! Always on the go...always loved to learn and always tried to help others! He was such a blessing to my father and me when my dad was so ill. He helped me think through and accomplish things that needed to be done in a time I was so overwhelmed as my dad was facing life's end. I remember seeing him at the SC State Fair where he worked with other paramedics and EMTs helping to keep a vigill over people attending the fair! Remember him running up/down the stairs at the Rec Center to get his daily exercise regime in. Had such energy all of the time! Enjoyed our talks and laughs. Can only imagine some of the things he might be talking with the Lord about! I pray that Father God comforts his family and friends on all sides; that He will strengthen and encourage your hearts. Praying that He will wrap you in His loving arms and draw you closer to His heart. That His hope will overflow your hearts and bring you peace. Carol Lamb

Eddie had such a heart to help people; always on the go. He loved to learn....a continual student in life. He loved his family and his friends. Don't think he ever met a stranger. Eddie was so versatile in his life; a lawyer, paramedic, etc. He loved America and served our country proudly. Was blessed to call him my cousin and friend. I pray that God comforts Eddie's family and friends. That He will strengthen and encourage them and that He will overshadow them with His love and hope. Know that I love each of you and that you are in my prayers. Julie Amick Greer

Ed helped for many years coaching the Brookland-Cayce girls Cross Country Team with Coach George Johnson. He was always very generous with his time and willing to help the athletes improve. Through the years when I would run into him he would always end the conversation by saying "let me know if I can ever do anything for you". He always loved to talk about running and the athletes he was coaching. Race well run Ed.

Coach Harmon coached me and my sisters for years in Jr. Olympics. From a very young age he had a huge influence in my life and instilled in me to never quit, and never give up! I needed that and am so grateful for it. I had not seen him in years but I always carried him in my heart and will forever. Our fuller than life Coach who always had a positive way to look at life!

To the Harmon Family,
Thank you for sharing Ed with us at Fort Mill High School for so many years. He has been such a huge presence in our team’s practices and meets for so long. In many ways he was the heart of Fort Mill Track and Cross Country. He has been involved in the lives of thousands of young people and I don’t think I’ve ever met someone with a bigger, more caring heart. He was so positive and encouraging with his jumpers and the younger runners. He always made sure that our kids were taken care of, that they had their inhalers, water bottles, and spikes in their shoes. Those of us who have worked with him for a while have closets full of the t-shirts he made for his athletes every season. I will miss seeing him in his camouflage pants and flannel shirt, writing down the splits of every runner who sprinted by.
I can’t imagine the countless hours he spent driving back and forth from Columbia to be with the team in Fort Mill each day. He will be missed at our finish lines and holding a rake at the long jump pit. He loved working with our team and we are all better off for knowing him. I'm sure I speak for hundreds of Fort Mill Yellow Jackets when I say, “Thank You for Everything, Ed.”
God Bless,
Marc Pyrc

To Mr. Harmon’s family,
You meet people in your life that make an impression and to me Mr. Harmon was such a person in mine. I’ve never met a man so full of life, willing to help others and well known in our “library” family. Over my 15 years of working at the Cayce West Columbia Library, Mr. Harmon has always been a staple at our branch. Reading the newspaper or the latest new release in his favorite chair upstairs. I always knew my day at work would be a good day when I would hear “Daniella, my Bella!” as he approached the desk. Our conversations were always fun and light hearted. He was a good man with a big heart, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, coaching track, working the First Aid tent during the State Fair or helping people with legal issues they had.
He will always be an apart of our library family.
Words cannot express my sorrow over his passing. His smile and humor will be missed by all of us at the library. His chair feels a little empty now but his spirit will live on.
My condolences to you all, we lost a great man and I will miss him greatly.

Mr. Harmon...Ed. He truly was one of the greatest men I’ve ever known. He was selfless, humble, energetic, “well read”, kind to people and animals…and he LOVED his library. He was (and will always be) part of the Cayce-West Columbia Library.
To me, Mr. Harmon was the closest thing to Superman.
For over 17 years, I enjoyed seeing him sprint through the front door full of life and purpose. He was determined to stay active – both physically and mentally. He would grab the newspaper or a new release and take it upstairs to sit in his favorite chair – leg thrown over the side. Then he would bring me the latest book reviews and request that we order them for the library. If I told him I had already order a copy, he’d say “what a girl!”
He made the library more special for me. Since the world turned upside down in March and we had to shut down along with everything else, Ed was forced to stop, too. He was always on the go-go-go. If he wasn’t coaching “his girls” on the track, he was walking at the Leisure Center, delivering Meals-on-Wheels to those in need, helping people with probate and other legal matters, or volunteering his time to some other fine cause.
Last year at the SC State Fair, my mom and I stopped by to see him at the First Aid office where he volunteered for many years. He walked over with us to the big top and watched the Circus, which he had already seen several times. He was so full of awe and excitement like a kid seeing it for the first time. He told us before each performance what was about to happen and we followed every cue. Afterwards, we sat at the elaborate organ and listened to the music. He loved that organ so much. My mother took this picture of us there and I think it captures him so well.
Mr. Harmon was the first person to RSVP to my wedding last year. It was an honor to have him attend and be part of our family.
You sure made your mark on this world, Mr. Harmon. I will miss you dearly.
Your eternally devoted librarian, Amy
