Obituary of Jennifer Leanne Branson

Jennifer “Jen Jen” Branson – Columbia – Services for Jennifer “Jen Jen” Branson, 46, of Columbia, will be private. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family with arrangements.  Jennifer Branson passed away May 13, 2020. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Fred M. Branson and Jackie Ringo Branson.

Jennifer was one of the strongest women you would ever meet. As a child, she had numerous surgeries at the Shriner’s Hospital. She never let anything hold her back. At one point in her life, she was able to walk without her crutches. She graduated high school, worked full time, and lived on her own for many years.

Her greatest joys in life were her niece and nephews. Layne, Camryn and Spencer. She would talk about them to anyone who listen. Because of them, she became “Jen Jen”, a title which she held proudly.

Jen Jen loved her two black cats, Lexi and Midnight. Jen Jen loved Mickey Mouse. Jen Jen loved sweets.

Because of Faith, we know that she is running in heaven. No more crutches, no more wheelchair, no more nursing home. No more pain. She is reunited with our parents and grandparents. My family are now our angels.

Jen Jen is survived by her sister, Jessica Branson-Turner (Corley), of Lexington; nephews, Layne and Spencer Turner; niece, Camryn Turner; aunts, Debbie Hall (Chuck) of West Columbia, Carol Russell of West Columbia; uncle, Marion Ringo (Violet) of Hopkins; sisters of the heart, Beverly Sealey (Stephen) of Lexington, Kelly Fallaw (Troy) of Lexington, and a large and loving extended family. In addition to her parents, Jen Jen was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Fred Branson, Sr., and Edith L. Branson; maternal grandparents, Lamar and Gertrude Ringo, and her beloved cats, Lexie and Midnight.

The family would like to thank nurse Tracey Pelzer at The Brian Center for her excellent care and friendship, and Jennifer Clemmons, Jen Jen’s best friend, who loved and supported her unconditionally.
