A couple days ago while winding down a trip to Florida, I got an unexpected call from Mr. Ron at Northside Baptist Church in West Columbia. I thought 2things: 1st strange he'd be calling me so soon about a pantry visit & 2nd My Pal Tommy Rish. Because he knew I'd known him & hadn't heard or seen Tommy since about June of 2019. Tommy was one to "move about". (smile) Everytime I asked folks downtown who knew him they'd say either "you just missed him" or "I saw him a few days ago". So on occasion when I'd visit 5 points & looked for him I couldn't find him. I met Tommy back around June 2013 & bonded with him as a Pal. We exchanged a lot of stories on our lives past & present. He was a gentle person of heart & deep feeling about a daughter he had, sister & brother named Danny. But I could always tell he had like myself many regrets & hope for a better time to come. Tommy was someone you couldn't help but fret over and sometimes loving chastise too. Mr Ron was very vague on circumstances of his death since he'd only recently gotten the news himself. So that makes me that much more sad about the buddy I'd sit at the State Capital with feeding & talking endlessly & laughing as we fed the little critters bread & nuts. He loved animals. But I'm glad I was able to Witness the reassurance to him of JEHOVAH GOD'S love and forgiveness to him despite his past as mine too, since He has appointed Christ Jesus our Savior. So I look forward to seeing Tommy again one day as Jesus has promised. So to his family and friends he missed and talked about, though Tom's gone temporarily take solace in the Truth of GOD'S Holy Bible in the promise of the resurrection for Tommy too. As The Bible shows GOD'S greatest guarantee in this is His Son Christ Jesus who is appointed to do these things since GOD restored his life. I will miss Tommy. He left friendly "Foot Prints on my heart". I'm at a loss for what happened to him, so if it's possible please call me at (803) 609-8874 my name is Emmit. Thank you and may GOD and Christ Jesus bless you. (Isaiah 25:8, John 5:25. Revelation 21:3,4 )
