Obituary of Christopher Michael Korrek

OBITUARY – Christopher “Ing” Michael Korrek Oak Ridge, NC – Services for Christopher “Ing” Michael Korrek, 41, of Oak Ridge, NC, will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the lakeside Gazebo at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Pastor Steven Kittrell will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the Gazebo. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington, SC is assisting the family.

Chris Korrek passed away October 14, 2019. Born in Augusta, GA, he was a son of Joseph Michael Korrek and Ila Denby Dean. “Ing”, which was a nickname he chose for himself when he was a very young boy, was a loving son, father, brother and uncle who was a hard worker, and owned his own tree cutting business. He loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, and was always seen wearing camouflage, bright orange or pink shirts. “Ing” named his tree cutting business after his three beloved daughters, Chelsey, Harley, and Leila.

Chris is survived by his children, Chelsey Carpenter, Harley Korrek (Brett Shore), Leila Moore, Colt Korrek; sister, Jaime Hartman; paternal grandfather, Tom Korrek; paternal grandmother, Mary Korrek; uncle, Kenneth Korrek (Nora); nieces, Alexas and Sarah Hartman; nephews, James and Levi Hartman; girlfriend, Amanda Priddy; and a large and loving extended family.

Chris was predeceased by his “Daddy”, Harold D. Dean; brother, Jamie Lee Korrek; maternal grandfather, James H. Denby; maternal grandmother, Nannie L. Denby; paternal great-grandmother, Josephine Korrek; paternal great-grandfather, Ray Korrek.

The family would like to thank the ICU nurses and doctors on 4 North at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC for their steadfast care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231.
