Aaron Eldon Humphries

November 10, 1933 – June 22, 2019

Aaron Eldon Humphries, 85, passed away on Saturday evening, June 22 following a brief illness. Born in Columbia, SC, Aaron was the son of the late Ivey Winfred and Emma Williams Humphries. He married the one and only love of his life, Betty Lee Blackwell in 1952.  Aaron was a huge western movie and music fan and was a cowboy at heart. He was a very humble, compassionate, loving, and funny man who was deeply devoted to his family.

Aaron is survived by his sister, Margie Lewis, son, Alan “Rocky” (Maureen), grandchildren, Carissa and Cody (Taylor), great-grandchildren, River and Chloe, nieces, Debbie Adams, Jerri Adkins, Joni Cox, and nephews, Chris and Jeff Humphries. In addition to his parents, Aaron was pre-deceased by his wife and his brother, Bobby.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, June 25, from 6 – 8 PM at Woodridge Funeral Home on Corley Mill Road in Lexington, SC. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, June 26, at Woodridge Funeral Home in the mausoleum chapel with burial following at Southland Memorial Gardens in West Columbia.
