Obituary of Gerald W. Loftis
OBITUARY – Gerald W. “Jerry” Loftis – Wagener – A Celebration of Life service for Gerald W. “Jerry” Loftis, 74, of Wagener, will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 14, 2019 at South Lexington Baptist Church, 116 Brevard Parkway, Lexington, SC 29073. Pastor Butch Powell will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service in the church sanctuary. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.
Jerry Loftis passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019. Born in Spartanburg, SC, he was a son of the late Joe Brooks Loftis and Gladys Maude Jackson Loftis. Jerry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle, who was a God fearing Christian who loved the Lord. He was also a talented saxophonist, and loved to travel on his motorcycle. He will be truly and deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Marsha L. Loftis; sons, Michael Todd Loftis (Michele) of Columbia, Ryan Blake Loftis “Thumper” of Hammond, Louisiana, mother of Michael and Ryan, Sandra Croft Loftis, son; Jamie Price (Erika) of Lexington; daughter, Dawn G. Mize (Allan) of Pelion; grandchildren, Jackson, Luke and Tucker Loftis, William Price, Ryan Price, David Mize, Katelyn Rodgers (Ben), Victoria Mize; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Jayden, Everett, Alice; sister, Joe Ann Holcombe; brother, William F. “Bill” Loftis (Mary), aunt, Carol Wilson (Jimmy), and a large and loving family, including nieces and nephews, Joe Lynn Mallios, Stanley W. Holcombe, Jr.,(Margaret), Stephanie Dunbar (Doug), Heather Lucus (Stacy), William R. Loftis, and multiple great nieces and great nephews. Jerry is also survived by his loving dog, “Bandit”.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Stanley W. Holcombe.
