Obituary of Eva Ruth Reedy

Eva Ruth Reedy – West Columbia – A graveside Celebration of Life service for Eva Ruth Reedy, 85, of West Columbia, will be held at 11:30 AM, Monday, April 22, 2019 at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road in Lexington. Pastor Eddie Coakley will officiate. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the graveside. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.

Mrs. Reedy passed away April 18, 2019. Born in Vestal, VA, she was a daughter of the late Shelburn Roe Shortt and Callie Kestner Shortt. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Cayce. Ruth had retired from the SC Department of Revenue after a career of more than 30 years, and enjoyed her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren. Her life was spent in service of others, and this brought her great joy and satisfaction. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Ruth is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa and Keith Busbee, of West Columbia, SC; brother, Vann Shortt of Bristol, TN; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; one expectant great-grandson.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Harry Myers Reedy; son, Harry Michael Reedy; and three brothers.
