Obituary of Edeltraud I. Cavender

Graveside services for Edeltraud I. Cavender, 69, of Fort Mill, South Carolina, will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 25, 2019 at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Father Ray Carlo will officiate. The family will greet friends at graveside for one hour prior to the service. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.

Edeltraud I. Cavender passed away, with her daughters at her side, on February 20, 2019, after a brave battle with cancer. 

Edeltraud was born in Bavaria, Germany.  She grew up in a large family, and they all remained close to her heart throughout her lifetime.  She met and married the love of her life, a United States Army Combat Engineer soldier, First Sergeant Lynn L. Cavender, who was stationed in her hometown.  She became a devoted Army wife in support of her husband’s military career.  Many moves across Germany, and also the United States, were required.  She always ensured that a loving and supportive home existed for her family.  After raising her two daughters, she pursued her own successful career in accounting, until her retirement.

Edeltraud enjoyed spending time with her family and friends most of all.  She was also passionate about sharing her culture with others, and learning of many different cultures.  An extremely creative person, she took great delight in spending time in nature, gardening, and travelling.  Edeltraud was a loving daughter, wife, proud Mammy and Omi, sister, and aunt.  She will be dearly missed!

Her memory is cherished by family:  Sandy, Diana, Nicholas, Joshua, David, Mike, Maria, Natalie, Sascha, Manfred, Michelle, Helmut, Linda, Virginia, and many friends.
